First Time Buyer Tax Credit Extended

The last few days, everyone in Portland  has been wondering whether the tax credit will be extended. It Looks like we finally have an answer. Although it hasn’t passed yet, a new Senate proposal which has bipartisan support will extend the $8000 tax credit for first time buyers, who put homes under contract by April 30th, 2010. The tax credit will also be available for people who have lived in the same home for 5 years or more. More details to follow……

The $8,000 tax credit ends soon!  First time buyers must close on their new house no later than November 30th.  As I mentioned in an earlier post, I think this is one of the main reason it seems as though the market has picked up so much in October.    There has been much speculation about whether the tax credit will be extended or revised, but at this point we haven't seen any concrete action of that being a reality.  If you really want to take advantage of the tax credit, we are likely in the last few days of being able to take action!!!…
