365PDX#21: Visit the Portland Classical Chinese Gardens

Posted March 24, 2010

The Portland Classical Chinese Gardens –  Take a peak at ancient Chinese culture at this full city block  botanical garden with hundreds of native Chinese plant species on display. Whether you’re on  a walking tour through this oasis of tranquil beauty or  just want to sip tea from the Tower of Cosmic Reflections Teahouse, you are sure to leave feeling far more relaxed then when you arrived.

Walking through the Chinese Gardens, you would think it has been there for hundreds of years, but just a little over a decade ago, this was an empty parking lot.

Between now and March 31st, the “festival of fragrance” is taking place at the gardens, which includes aromatherapy talks, flower arranging workshops with fragrant plants, and tours with the Garden’s horticulture. New events take place monthly, visit their website for more information, including hours and admission prices.

239 NW Everett St.
