365PDX day 26: hot tubbing at Common Ground Wellness Center

My first trip to Common Grounds Wellness Center on NE Flanders St. was in 1996, and since then I have gone there frequently to soak in their tubs, relax, or get a massage.  It was a sad day when ‘Inner City Hot Tubs’ closed a few years back at the Common Ground Wellness Center . Fortunately, CGWC has opened up an additional location on NE 33rd, and the tubs are back once again.

Both Common Grounds locations have health care practitioners providing  massage, acupuncture, chiropractic, naturopathic, energy work and counseling services (see website for full list).

At the NE 33rd location, they also have Inner City Hot Tubs- which  is a  co-ed swimsuit optional spa that offers a safe, non-sexual place to relax and rejuvenate. Come for an hour in the hot tub and sauna or better yet- get a ‘massage sandwich’ which is a half hour soak, than a massage, than another half hour soak.

For added discounts, become a member of this fantastic community supported wellness center. Members receive an hour soak for the price of a half hour weekdays from 10am-1pm.
