365PDX day 53: SCRAP (School and Community Re-use Action Project)

If you have some children with free time on their hands and the urge to create something, SCRAP is the place to go.  SCRAP takes donations of  art materials, office supplies, fabric, and sometimes random odds and ends  leftover from projects and offers them for sale to the public at extremely discounted prices.  Scrap is amazing because it encourages environmentally responsible creativity. They also have a free community space and offer workshops, as well as CAMP SCRAP- a summertime multi day workshop for kids.

SCRAP has won all sorts of  awards lately for being so awesome. For more information, to donate, volunteer or become a member, be sure to visit their website.

Scrap is located at 2915 Northeast Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard

You can also  find them on Twitter  @Scrapaction or become a fan of their Facebook page
