365PDX#57: first Sunday at OMSI (just $2.)

Posted April 30, 2010

365PDX#57: Head to OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry) this Sunday and you will pay just $2. admission. Every first Sunday of the month they reduce admission charges to just $2.

The current featured exhibit at OMSI is Space: A Journey to our Future, thru the end of May.

This exhibit is presented in collaboration with NASA and offers  multimedia look at the past and future of space travel. I have yet to see this exhibit, but am curious to ride the bike powered centrifuge to ‘experience the physiological challenges of space flight.’

OMSI  has other exhibits  as well: You can tour the USS Blueback submarine, check out Science on a Sphere , view a 40ft T-Rex skeleton (the most complete T-Rex fossil in the world), visit the Starry Nights Planeterian, or catch an Omni Max movie.

OMSI also has classes and camps for kids.

OMSI is open 9:30-5:30 Tuesday to Sunday. The theater is open evenings.
