365 Things to do in Portland: Vietnam Veterans of Oregon Memorial:

Due to website issues, original post was done directly on 365PDX Facebook

Located in the Hoyt Arboretum, The Vietnam Veterans of Oregon Memorial lists the names of all Oregon residents who died or were missing in action during The Vietnam war.

The black granite memorial wall has 803 names engraved on it, as well as a three year chronicle of the war and concurrent local events.

From The Portland Parks website “Its location in the arboretum provides a serene setting for reflection. The memorial also includes several symbolic components: a bosque of pear trees at the entrance symbolizes life and sacredness; water elements in the Garden of Solace signify life, purity, and hope.”

4000 SW Canyon Rd, located in the Hoyt Arboretum.
