365 Things to do in Portland #116: Two for One Tuesdays at Oaks Park
If you didn’t want to brave the rain clouds at the Rose Festival this year and you’re looking to fill your amusement park quota for the kids, head down to Oaks Park in the Sellwood District, on the banks of the Willamette River. The park boasts 20 rides, ranging from family-friendly to thrill-filled, as well as a one of the largest roller rinks on the West Coast and ample grassy lawns for picnicking.
Every Tuesday through September 31st, Oaks Park will be hosting a Radio Disney Two for One day. Purchase a thrill ride bracelet, cotton candy, corn dog or hot dog and get one of the same for free. At 2 pm, you can watch a live show with the Radio Disney Funsters with games and prizes for the kids. No coupon or discount code is necessary – just show on up and enjoy.
The park also offers catering and beverage services and welcomes you to bring your own barbeque for outdoor gatherings in one of their 25 picnic areas. And with free parking and gate admission, you can go soak up the atmosphere without spending a penny.
Ride hours are 12-9 pm Tuesday-Thursday, 12-10 pm Friday-Saturday and 12-7pm on Sundays.
