University Park is an older neighborhood in North Portland. It’s home to the University of Portland. You’ll find many beautiful homes for sale in University Park. Due to its proximity to Adidas as well as Swan Island, many people choose this affordable neighborhood to live In, so they can keep their commutes down to a minimum. It’s also close to St. Johns as well as Interstate Ave, so there is plenty of shopping nearby. University Park has been a haven for first time homebuyers and rehabbers in recent years, as they have discovered it’s a quiet and beautiful neighborhood. Parents to University of Portland students like to purchase rental properties in the neighborhood while their children are in school. New construction also seems to be booming in this neighborhood as well (note in Summer of 2011 I noticed quite a few high end homes being built).
Residents enjoy several parks in the neighborhood including Columbia Park- which has amenities and room for everyone. There is also the 4+ acre Mckenna park and Portsmouth Park.
