Brooklyn neighorhood is a close in Southeast Portland residential neighborhood that runs just South of Powell Blvd . It neighbors nearby Sellwood-Moreland, Creston, Reed and Abertnathy neighborhoods. Because it is so close to downtown via the Ross Island Bridge, it is a popular neighborhood for people that want to live in SE Portland, but work on the other side of the River. Brooklyn neighborhood real estate is slightly more affordable than more popular neighborhoods in Southeast Portland like Hawthorne, Belmont or Lauerlhurst. There are also fewer shops and restaurants in the Brooklyn neighborhood, but plenty nearby in other neighborhood. The most well known business in the area is The Aladdin Theater. Residents have access to Brooklyn park to play in, as well as the nearby Springwater Corridor bike trails. As long as you are not too close to the edge of the neighborhood, this tends to be a fairly quiet area.
