Sunnyside Neighborhood is a close-in Eastside Portland neighborhood. Sunnyside Real Estate has become very sought after in the last few years since the neighborhood has really come into its own. I bought my first home in the Sunnyside neighborhood in 1996- and it was not nearly as beautiful as it is today. Sunnyside neighborhood has two district areas- The Hawthorne District and Belmont area- most residents will typically say they live in “Belmont” or “Hawthorne” as opposed to Sunnyside. The neighborhood has plenty of shopping, coffee houses, a Fred Meyer, New Seasons, and boutiques. Many people want to buy a home for sale in the neighborhood because of Sunnyside Environmental School, which is very popular. Neighborhood residents can enjoy all the amenities at nearby Laurelhurst Park, a stroll down Hawthorne Ave or a bike ride up to Mt. Tabor, where they can hike and take the dog to play at the off leash dog area. I love living in the Sunnyside neighborhood and think you will too.
